Our Philosophy
Let’s Cure CP wants to promote research in the United States at the top institutions using the safest methods available. We currently are supporting 3 types of regenerative research.
| Allogenic |
Cells that are not derived from ones own body, they are donor cells. Let’s Cure CP is looking into bone marrow cells (adult stem cells). |
| Autologus | These are cells that are harvested from the patients own body. Bone marrow stem cells will be taken from the patient, isolated in the lab, and re-infused back into the patient the same day. These stem cells will be administered through an IV. Institution:University Texas Houston Researcher: Dr. Charles Cox |
| Cord Blood | These cells are collected at birth from the babies umbilical cord and stored at a cord blood bank. The stem cells can be cryopreserved and used at a later date. The patient receives their own cells back through an IV. 200 children have been safely treated with this therapy to date. Institution:Duke University Researchers:Dr. Joanne Kurtzberg and Dr. C. Michael Cotten |
LCCP feels that as an organization we have a moral obligation to the American community to not only educate the Cerebral Palsy community, but to support responsible research. That means aligning and supporting doctors and scientists that are looking for the safest way to get the maximum and best outcome. We are hoping to fund scientists that want to collect, share, and publish their data to better the scientific Cerebral Palsy community.
Let’s Cure CP’s hope is by acting responsibly and proactively, we will insight other scientists to do further research that will not only help CP patients but other closely related conditions.
By doing our work correctly, parents will NOT subject their children to unproven, risky procedures in other countries. Some of these clinics in other countries have had detrimental outcomes ultimately ending in loss of life.
Thank You
We are very excited to have received these wonderful thank you letters from UT and MCG:
